I’m not Jewish, can I still come?

Yes, of course.  The goal of this event is simply to raise awareness of a tradition

that dates back thousands of years.  We encourage all to students, faculty, and

community members to participate in this event.

 

I don’t know anything about the traditions or prayers

of Shabbat.  Will I still feel comfortable?

This event is directed at an audience that includes all religious views and levels

 of observance. No matter where you fit, you will feel welcome and comfortable.

 

I am a very observant Jew who is Shomer Shabbos.

  Will this event allow me to practice my customs to

their fullest?

All food at this event will be Glatt Kosher with a Mashgiach on premises. 

There will be no cooking done on Shabbat and we will not be using any electrical devices.

 

What does it mean to be a table captain?

If you are a table captain, you are responsible for filling up a table of ten, and you will be responsible for serving the second course to your table.  Also, ALL TABLE CAPTAINS GET FREE T-SHIRTS!!!

 

Is the goal of this event to make me Jewish or a more observant Jew?

Absolutely not.  We are not trying to push anything on you.  Instead, we just want to provide a fun, educational & cultural experience, and an insightful look at an important Jewish tradition.
